Project 7: Giving Away Money is Good Business Voting Begins Today for Non-Profit Recipients (SOUTHLAKE, TX) January 12, 2010 — Have you ever given away $105,000 to charity? Between now and January 31, 2010, millions of people across America can decide which seven charities will receive a $15,000 boost to their bottom line in 2010. A total of $105,000 will be given away by Project 7, a manufacturer of bio-bottled water, mints, gum and eco-friendly t-shirts. “My whole reason for starting Project 7 was to fund positive change,” says founder Tyler Merrick. “Giving away our first year of funding to seven worthy non-profits truly brings the vision of Project 7 to life. Our Great Giveaway makes us more than just a company. Project 7 is a movement, a vision and now a reality.” Three finalists in each cause category have been pre-selected based on Project 7’s seven critical areas of need and entry criteria. The selected charities must be U.S. based, serve one of Project 7’s causes locally or abroad, and contribute a minimum of 50 percent of every dollar received in their field of service, among other criterion. Following are the three non-profit finalists in each of the seven cause categories: Build the Future:
- HOPE International
- KIPP Foundation
- Kiva
