What you can do to heal Haiti…

We see the pictures of devastation on our TV. We hear the impassioned pleas from the survivors on the radio. We read about the damage and destruction in our newspapers and online. This makes us want to pack our bags full of medical supplies and find the nearest boat or plane and head for Haiti. And while a noble gesture, Haiti isn't ready for the masses of motivated individuals that want to offer aid. First, airports, ports and roads need to be reopened, the front line needs to be established and order needs to be restored. This type of aid is on the way and some is already there. Currently, the U.S. Navy has seven ships enroute to the ravaged nation, including the aircraft carrier Carl Vinson, bringing much needed medical and humanitarian relief. So, you are probably asking yourself, what can I do to help? Even thought Haiti isn't ready for you to land on its shores you can still make a big difference. There are a number of qualified agencies that need your help to truly make a difference for the Haitian people. So bottomline? DONATE!!!!! Your money will be put to good use. Here are a few ways to dontae quickly to these aid organizations: Text to Give Money • The American Red Cross is accepting $10 donations when you text HAITI to 90999.
