Meet, Greet and Go Green – P7’s Cathy Calixto on GreenPeriod

Green Period-August 15, 2009 I met Lincoln Steffens through fellow Project 7 Affiliate Eddy Badrina. Eddy thought it’d be cool for me to reach out to Lincoln to potentially collab on a Project 7 Day (If you don’t know about Project 7 Day, you better ask somebody). On August 15th, Lincoln invited us to participate in the Green Period, a festival whos mission was to promote Green Sustainable living in the city of Dallas. Other sponsors included WFAA Channel 8, The City of Dallas, South Side on Lamar, Broccoli City, and many more. Part of the festival included a pop-up retail shop. The shop included various modules including recycled furniture, makeovers by Zinc, an organic makeup line, and organic clothing by Broccoli City. So besides being a vendor at the event, we at Project 7 wanted to contribute something else. We contributed a recycled chandelier made of our very own Project 7 water bottles. This was no easy task and you can peep what Darren had to say about that. He was the brains behind the chandelier project and it ended up looking awesome. I actually think he almost lost his mind trying to build it... We got to meet lots of people and learned some cool things about living Green!
