Today we appeared on a sweet blog called coolmompicks.com Coolmompicks.com is a blog written by a couple of gifted scribes who happen to be moms. They have a "soft spot for non-mainstream products and services, particularly those from indie or emerging designers." And today, Project 7 fit the mold!
These moms aren't paid for their reviews, so take a look at an unbiased view of what the cool moms think of our goods!

While this post started out as a "fun" and "light" entry on a nun who runs, the more we learned, the more serious it became, for there is a serious issue that keeps Sister Mary Elizabeth running - Children orphaned because of AIDS.
In the U.S., 67,000 children will be orphaned this year due to AIDS.
In Ethiopia, 400,000 children will be orphaned this year due to AIDS.
In India, 4,000,000 children will be orphaned this year due to AIDS.
And China, won't even release their numbers.
- Sister Mary Elizabeth Lloyd.
We came across Sister Mary Elizabeth's story on the New York Times website. The New York Times is doing an exposé called
Running Voices and Sister Mary Elizabeth is just one of the participants. But what a participant.
“I run in a habit as a statement because then people say, ‘Why are you running in your habit?’ ” she says. “It gives me a chance to tell them I’m running for the children.”
60 year old, Sister Mary Elizabeth has been HELPING THOSE IN NEED throughout the world for the past 12 years. She is the author of AIDS ORPHANS RISING and uses competitive distance running to raise awareness for this growing issue. In a
touching interview with Richard R. Blake of Reader Views, Sister Mary Elizabeth paints a bleak picture for these millions of orphaned children worldwide.
"I fear for these children and the world. The numbers are staggering, when you walk through villages that were once filled with families you find only children, or just abandoned huts...More than 75% of the orphans are girls with no education and nowhere to go. Most have only prostitution to turn to."
The U.N. predicts that there will be 25 million orphans from AIDS by 2010. This staggering number is enough to make anyone feel like there is no hope. But Sister Mary Elizabeth offered up a great solution.
"We are all in this world together. When anyone on earth suffers we should all be concerned. No matter your belief I think the world is beginning to realize whether it is a Tsunami, hurricane, earthquake or assassination…we are all affected and we all have a responsibility to help each other. All countries are pulling together for global warming…let’s pull together to help the children…they need love most of all, then food and education."
Right on sister! We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
So get into the habit (pun or nun intended) and HELP Those in NEED... or do your part to HEAL the SICK and put an end to the disease that is leaving so many children without a family.
And of course, Run, Nun Run!
It is time for an update! In honor of one of our seven causes, Project 7 made a donation last year to
Kiva.org, the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website that empowers individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs around the globe. Check it out if you aren't familiar.
We donated directly to Antonio from Mozambique. Antonio currently lives in small rental unit with his family. While the unit provides shelter it is far from sufficient for his family.
To fix this, Antonio reached out to Kiva and has since our donation taken a loan out to finance the construction of his own home.
In a stroke of luck, Antonio's cousin has given him a piece of land on which to build. When finished his house will have three bedrooms, two living rooms and a veranda for his family to finally call their own. All of the construction has been financed through microcredit and Antonio doesn't feel the project would have been possible without it. He learned about Hluvuku from his friends at work and has had a positive experience working with them.
Antonio's greatest dream is to move into his new home with his family and see his family comfortable and happy.
We are greatful to be a part of Antonio's dream.

What do you think the price of a child is? We are hoping you would say
priceless.
In many areas of the world, priceless is definitely not the answer. Sadly, for the price of a really nice pair of sneakers, you too can own a child... Recently, an ABC News Nightline reporter went undercover to expose the human trafficking trade in Haiti, with the emphasis being on child slavery. The story is heavy and hard to believe, but so important to share with those that you love. The more the world knows about things like this, the more we, as a global community, can do to change it.
We challenge you to read this article and share it with five people that you know (or more if you can). Support "Helping Those in Need" through education and awareness, and we really will "Change the Score."
So read it!

Powerful, unbelievable and with your help, changeable.
