It is time for an update! In honor of one of our seven causes, Project 7 made a donation last year to
Kiva.org, the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website that empowers individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs around the globe. Check it out if you aren't familiar.
We donated directly to Antonio from Mozambique. Antonio currently lives in small rental unit with his family. While the unit provides shelter it is far from sufficient for his family.
To fix this, Antonio reached out to Kiva and has since our donation taken a loan out to finance the construction of his own home.
In a stroke of luck, Antonio's cousin has given him a piece of land on which to build. When finished his house will have three bedrooms, two living rooms and a veranda for his family to finally call their own. All of the construction has been financed through microcredit and Antonio doesn't feel the project would have been possible without it. He learned about Hluvuku from his friends at work and has had a positive experience working with them.
Antonio's greatest dream is to move into his new home with his family and see his family comfortable and happy.
We are greatful to be a part of Antonio's dream.
